In this searching study David Lorimer examines the development of speculations on the nature of life and death from indigenous tribes to modern neuroscientists and philosophers. He invites you to reconsider your ideas on death by presenting many intriguing case histories of psychic experiences that have too much in common to be dismissed as 'mere coincidences': apparitions, out-of-body experiences (OBEs), near-death experiences (NDEs) and 'post-mortem' accounts of what it is like to die.
