Jules François Crahay is one of the great couturiers of the second half of the twentieth century. Between 1959 and 1984 he was the creative director at Nina Ricci and later at Lanvin. At these houses, he made his mark on the fashion world with his youthful, joyful style, nourished by exoticism and romanticism.

This book is the first reference work on Crahay, a figure in fashion history who was as discreet as he was talented. It retraces the designer's career and reveals and highlights the characteristics of his style through texts and abundant iconography. Five authors place the couturier in a wider context.
