Jeanne Boden’s artwork is known for its sketchy bold and powerful brushstrokes. She uses methods like ‘floating perspective’, ‘emptiness’, and ‘movement of energy’. With brush and oil paint she carves out rocks and rivers evoking tranquil mountainous landscapes shrouded in mist and clouds, she splashes waves into spacious seascapes, composes cloudscapes, or grasps the frenetic atmosphere of big cities. For her, a work of art is all about movement. A lifetime of immersion into Asia, studying classical ink painting and its holistic aesthetic framework as well as contemporary art while being trained in oil painting in Europe balances her work between East and West. This artbook introduces some of the oil paintings she created between 2011-2024.
