I Heard you, Lord, says author Erline Dennis, who is an earnest and attentive listener to God's Word. The title poem, "I Heard You, Lord," bespeaks the author's profound faith in God. Hope emanates from the poem "The Cross," and "Why, Mama?" records a crisis in faith after the death of the author's mother. Soon, however, faith again runs deep in the verse "Outstretched Arms," in which the poet writes: "O Lord, I know / That You see by day and by night. / Not ever letting even one / Out of sight." The sight of a big spectacular cloud reminds her of the Second Coming of Jesus in the work titled "The Cloud in the Sky."
